Westby Racing.....Wins 8 Hours At Daytona!!!!     

Westby Racing/Kneedraggers.com's Josh Hayes, Dustin Meador, Dane Westby, and Jeff Wood rode nearly a perfect race on their YZF-R6, to win the AMA Pro SunTrust Moto-GT 8 Hours of Daytona on October 17, 2009.

Westby Racing's Dane Westby and Dustin Meador have been riding together in endurances for some time now. They, knowing they wouldn't be able to do the entire 8 hours on their own, asked Josh Hayes and Jeff Wood if they would be willing to ride on their team to help with, what seemed to be out of reach at the time, them winning.

"Looking back" says Dustin Meador, "I remember passing by the podium with tires in hand, and I remember seeing the podium and hoping I would be up there". With 8 hours of racing behind them they can now say they were there, On center podium.

In 2009 Dane finished 18th in AMA Pro Daytona SportBike standings with five top-10 finishes. He also began campaigning the SunTrust Moto-GT1 season at the halfway point, earning three poles (VIR, New Jersey and the 8 Hours At Daytona) and three victories (Mid-Ohio, Topeka and the 8 Hours At Daytona). 2010 brought on a new team for Dane, riding for Project 1 Atlanta,

In 2011 Dane joined M4 Suzuki (aka Team Hammer) and earned his first AMA Pro race win at Mid-Ohio. The Oklahoman was instantly competitive on Team Hammer's bikes in the Daytona SportBike class, showcasing his aggressive style with regularity. “Dane joined the team this past year and learned a new bike really quickly,” crew cheif Keith Perry added. “He got a great win and came close to winning several other times and we’re looking forward to his continued development.
